I like the Kinks but they are massively inconsistent compared to the Beatles
ditto the Stones They certainly didn't have the breadth or creativity of the Beatles
The End is the biggest load of over indulgent boring wankfest ever to be put out in the 60's.

Beatles music only really comes to life when you play the guitar and sing the lyrics in tune at the same time. Then and omnly then do you realise how great those songs really are.
We've got an ongoing project where I work called "It was 50 Years Ago Today"
Last year, we had an assembled cover band playing both albums and all singles and b sides from 1963.
This year they had a showe with all the recordings from 1964.
And so on until 2019, when they will do all the 1969 + the album from1970.
What has been rammed home both this year and last, is how many killer tunes they could write in just one year. In later years I've been falling in love with those early hits again, when they were more together and writing like Buddy Holly and the harmony singing girl bands from the states. Incredible output for such young lads from Liverpool.
Oh and they were by far the tightest and best british rock and roll band live back then. All their contempories will tell you that.

The Beatles despite being annoying scousers, at times, hyped to death, over played over idolised over=paid over rated over cunted off blah blah blah are the greatest fucking band there's ever been. Why are we still talking about them 44 years after their demise? More importantly millions of people are still playing their music and guess what, it is still fucking terrific for the most part.

Listened to it in its entirety quite a few times on vinyl as a kid when elder brother used to play it . The only reason we are discussing it now 45 years later is because the Beatles are such an influential band.

As far as I can see the Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks, the Who and the Small Faces were all revolutionary British bands whose influence on music is still huge today, 50 years later.
How anyone can realistically dispute this I can't imagine, Naturally, they all produced some proper shit along with their vast array of great songs, but why anyone would wish to slag any of them off is beyond me.
Of course, people may prefer one of these bands over another or prefer another artist entirely, but statements along the lines of 'the Beatles were shit' are plain silly.

People who say they like the Beatles are too scared to say they don't like the Beatles.
People who like the Beatles don't actually play their music often.
People who say they like the Beatles and are asked to name some exceptional Beatles music are often stumped as "Love love me do" doesn't qualify as profound lyrics.
People usually say the Beatles are the best band ever without even listening to a majority of their music, they must be the best band ever as everyone says so!
